CASIO MATH CHALLENGE 2024 CELEBRATES EXCEPTIONAL MATHEMATICAL TALENT IN OMAN
Muscat – “The second edition of the “CASIO Math Challenge 2024” was a tremendous success. This event showcased the remarkable problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and mathematical skills of students from some of Oman’s most prestigious institutions.
It was organized by CASIO Middle East and Africa FZE (CMEA), the regional subsidiary of CASIO Computer Co., Ltd. and a leader in educational technology, in partnership with Al Nahar Group, CASIO’s authorized reseller, and ABQ Azzan Bin Qais International School as the host.
The competition brought together 80 talented high school students from esteemed schools, forming teams that highlighted their exceptional skills and enthusiasm for mathematics, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Reflecting on the event, Mr Takashi Seimiya, Managing Director of CASIO Middle East and Africa, expressed his excitement about the initiative in Oman. He said, “This collaboration is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering academic excellence and nurturing the next generation of mathematical talent. We are proud of the incredible potential and creativity displayed by all participants and are honored to be part of their academic journey. We firmly believe in the transformative power of education, especially in mathematics, which not only enhances skills but also inspires young minds to explore its limitless possibilities.”
Mr Dederick Swart, Principal of the host school ABQ Azzan Bin Qais International School in Muscat, remarked, “At ABQ Education Group, we are deeply committed to nurturing and developing the talents of our students, and watching students from across Muscat come together with such passion and determination has been one of the highlights of our year so far. It was truly inspiring to see their enthusiasm and dedication in action.”
The competition concluded with the announcement of the top three teams:
- First Place: Beaconhouse school – This team showcased exceptional problem-solving skills, excelling in all rounds of the challenge securing the first and third place.
- Second Place: ABQ Azzan Bin Qais International – In a close contest, this team impressed judges with their strategic approach and quick solutions to complex problems.
This year’s CASIO Math Challenge celebrated the spirit of mathematical inquiry and innovation, inspiring Oman’s young minds to reach new academic heights.
